My fascination with the natural world spans from the tiniest organisms to the complexity of entire ecosystems. Driven by this curiosity, I pursued a degree in General Biology before specializing in Marine Sciences. During my PhD, I studied how marine ecosystems function and how these natural processes such as carbon and nutrient cycling, and food web dynamics are affected by human activities.
As part of the interdisciplinary HAEDES team, I draw on my expertise in ecosystem functioning and services to address pressing societal and water-related challenges. To meet these challenges, my goal is to contribute to the development of lasting nature-inspired solutions that support the sustainable growth of the blue economy while strengthening ecosystems. After all, only healthy, well-functioning ecosystems can continue to provide vital services to people in the long term.
