Narrative :
The I3-FLOAT project is a European initiative designed to strengthen the floating offshore wind value chain by mobilising interregional innovation investments and accelerating the market readiness of advanced technologies. It is funded by the Interregional Innovation Investments (I3) – Strand 1 programme and co-financed by the European Union through EISMEA. The project engages 24 partners across 8 European regions. For over 36 months, I3FLOAT will implement 10 innovation investments on four floating platforms and launch two Open Calls to support up to 50 SMEs. With a strong focus on less developed and outermost regions, the project boosts cohesion, competitiveness and sustainable growth.
In the I3-FLOAT project, HAEDES main role is focused on the development of a Digital Twin system to support the load analysis for optimizing the design of the floating wind structure. These loads will be monitored and validated throughout the prototype’s lifetime using sensors developed by HAEDES, with a particular focus on met-ocean parameters. In addition, a machine-learning-based prediction system will be integrated into the Digital Twin to assess environmental conditions and feed into structural resistance forecasting and operational scheduling.
Our touch :
- Set-up and testing the capacity of IoT sensors for monitoring met-ocean conditions
- Develop a Digital Twinning and AI to provide input to scale the design of the floater
- Provide support during the operation phase
